Niagara was able to keep the game close for about the first 10 minutes. The outcome was never in doubt once KU picked up the pace. The Jayhawks were able to build a 52-27 halftime lead. They simply cruised from there. KU racked up 14 steals and knocked down 13 three-pointers in the 107-67 victory.

Mario chalmers led KU with 19 points. He was 8-9 from the floor. Russell Robinson had 16 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Sherron Collins had 15 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Darrell Arthur had 12 points and 8 boards. Julian Wright had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Kansas will play Kentucky in the second round on Sunday.
