The Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Texas A&M Aggies at College Station last night. The Jayhawks used a suffocating defense and a strong running game to pull out a 19-11 victory.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first half thanks to a 4th down stop by KU's defense and a blocked field goal by the Aggies. KU kicker Scott Webb also missed another field goal attempt in the first half, but he put Kansas on the board early in the third quarter.
KU held the Aggies to another 3 and out. Then, Brandon McAnderson went to work. McAnderson busted into the end zone on the next possession and KU went up 10-0. Webb added another field goal before the end of the quarter to give KU a 13-0 lead going into the 4th.
McAnderson added another TD run, but KU failed on the two-point conversion. The score stood at 19-0 before the Aggies finally got on the board. The Aggies were able to kick a field goal and add a late TD to make the score 19-11. KU was able to swat away two bombs at the end of the game to seal the win.
