The Kansas Jayhawks defeated the running and gunning Baylor Bears 100-90 last night. KU hit the 100 point mark despite not hitting a three-pointer for the entire game. Baylor was able to knock down 12 of them which is what kept them in the game.
Baylor came out running and held the lead for most of the first half. Brandon Rush scored a basket while getting fouled with the game tied late in the half. He hit the free throw to give KU a 36-33 lead going into the locker room.
The second half turned into a track meet. KU ended up scoring 64 points in the second half. It was their highest scoring half of the year. Baylor was able to tie the game at 50 until KU finally put the game away.
Darrell Arthur led KU with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. Russell Robinson had an outstanding game. He racked up a season-high 22 points. He was 14-15 from the free throw line. KU made 36-46 free throws as a team.
Sherron Collins scored 17 points in the game as he used his quickness to get to the basket. Mario Chalmers played an all around good game by notching 10 points(all in the second half), 7 assists, 5 boards, and 4 steals.
KU is now 23-1 this season. They are 8-1 in conference play. Kansas is now 13-1 all-time against Baylor.
The Jayhawks will take on Texas in Austin on Monday night. The game will be televised on ESPN at 8pm Eastern.
